It is essential that no matter what a user has installed - whether it be flash plug-ins or various readers, the main content of the website i.e the text and navigation should be the key elements that allow a user to see what is being displayed. No matter what the design, if the basics are not there, then a site will simple not work to it's best. Good point to make.
